Something to Know About Jesus
In ancient hermetic philosophy, there are seven universal laws. When one’s consciousness is in harmony with these laws, one’s life seems to be in balance. Some people make these laws their religion, but for me they are tools to help me better understand my connection to God and the Holy Trinity. My life is only fully in balance when God is at the center.
Jesus knew about all other religions. I was told once that there is an ancient book in a Tibetan temple that says a man named Jesus was there for a time to study Buddhism. Another book states that Jesus once said neither Buddhism nor the Old Testament religion was complete because Buddhism was spirituality without God and the Old Testament taught only what men thought they knew about God without spiritually connecting with Him. Jesus said that we need both God and spirituality.
When I told a few fellow Christians that I was learning about Buddhism, their eyes narrowed and I could feel the intensity of immediate rejection. They didn’t take time to ask me why and I didn’t bother to tell them. The exchange was upsetting, but I remembered that Jesus and his apostles also faced ridicule from those who clung to the old traditions.
Christianity today is not what Jesus taught. It has been reinterpreted time and time again, and remolded into a celebration of Jesus the man. I do not believe this is what Jesus wanted. He did not come here for his own glory. He came to tell us about the Kingdom of Heaven and to show us the way. To truly honor Jesus the man, we should honor what he taught us.
The starting point is to unlearn man’s versions of religion, then sit at Jesus’ feet like children to learn it all anew straight from him. It takes time for deep soul searching, time for research, development of discernment, and loads of prayerful meditation. Only the faithful will endure.
This I can say with certainty, once you start to truly know Jesus, you will come back to sit at his feet time and time again. There is nowhere better.
