Paths and Ways

Two people can travel the same path while having different ways to proceed. They do not need to walk the same way. They do not need to keep in stride with one another. In fact, one might choose to ride a bike and weave from side to side. One might sit on the side for a while. One might get off the path altogether for a time. Why should one person judge the other for how they choose to travel? Keep to your own itinerary and lend a hand in kindness when someone needs help changing a flat tire.

Excerpt from The Urantia Book, Paper 140: Section 8

“Jesus knew men were different, and so he taught his apostles. He constantly exhorted them to refrain from trying to mold the disciples and believers according to some set pattern. He sought to allow each soul to develop in its own way, a perfecting and separate individual before God.”

We do not need to agree on all of the details along the way to the Kingdom of Heaven. Let’s just head in that direction in our own, individual way. When I see you on the path I’ll give you a nod and a smile.
