Where It All Went Wrong

There is no place for politics in spirituality. You’ll never read a political post or even a political hint on this blog. Unfortunately, most religious and spiritual leaders do not draw that line. It created a stumbling block for me many times in the past.

Too often people take on religion as a means and method, and dare I say excuse?, to steamroll a personal and political agenda. I passionately say, “Wrong arena, dude.”

In my studies, I have read that Jesus refused to take any political side. His family and the people of Nazareth desperately wanted him to, but it was not part of his mission from God. His mission was to speak to people’s hearts and inspire them to a higher, more noble potential. God’s will was first and foremost for Jesus, not his own.

To speak politically or with any personal vengeance whatsoever from the pulpit is equivalent to going dirt-bike riding all day then coming back to the lodge and getting in the pool without washing off first. I’m not getting in there with you to have a conversation on spiritual consciousness. That’s a definitive “no thank-you”.

And, it’s why I am now forging my own path ahead. My faith is in Jesus.
